Ive been all over Manitoba and I definately have to say this is one of the best places Ive stayed at. You notice that the reviews consistently say good food, good people and that is certainly true. The rooms are clean and comfortable. I travel a lot for my work and roam from town to town between Alberta and Manitoba, if you have an excuse to stop here please do, the food is great and the servers are phenomenal. As a side note the locals are incredibly friendly and really make the stay worth while.Update - I am back in Virden, and wouldnt you know, Im staying at the Virden Central Hotel. I wanted to update this review because I believethat a good establishment can provide consistent good service. I can assure you they do. The waitress even know my beer of choice from 2 weeks ago. In all honesty in my travels I might make an effort to drive by Brandon to stop here... and I suggest you do as well.
Bar and Restaurant Review.Love this little place. Was in the area for work for a few weeks. The staff are very friendly, and funny. was nice to sit around and have a beer by the counter and listen to the happy banter. Was the highlight of my work day , to go over and relax with a beer. met some very friendly local people in there too. Good karma in this joint. Nice specials at good prices., Food is alright, and the burgers are quite tasty. I wouldn't mind seeing a couple of spicy dishes on the menu too. just to change it up from the salt, pepper and butter combo... throw some chili in there guys...haha. Thanks for the wonderful and friendly experience. I'll be back whenever I return to this little town. (Neil, Alberta)

This is a tough place to rate, because the staff is super friendly and helpful and the food is affordable. They have a fantastic cheeseburger, too! The reason I'm giving three stars is mainly based on the hotel experience. The room was extremely aged and drab, the sofa was torn, the surround in the shower was coming off the wall, the carpet was ancient, and the bed was old and uncomfortable. For the price, it's about what a person could reasonably expect, but I think doing some renovating and increasing the prices a bit would serve this place well.
